The B ring, seen by Voyager and then by Cassini.

Voyager saw them; Cassini watched them come and go. Radial, wedge-like dark or bright features in the B ring, made of tiny icy particles lifted by electrostatic charge. They can stretch more than 10,000 miles, longer than Earth’s diameter, and last hours. Formed and gone, Cassini’s team said, in the time it takes to eat breakfast.

They vanished from view around Saturnian equinox years and returned. A ring can be both architecture and weather.
