Close approaches, then the long climb out of the system.

Voyager 1 in November 1980, Voyager 2 in August 1981. The rings resolve into thousands of ringlets, waves, spokes, shepherding. Thinness becomes visible as fact. Saturn stops being a disk with a halo and becomes weather in orbit.

Why nextA flyby cannot watch a seven-year season. For that, a machine has to stay.
